Pat Underwood #373

Detroit Tigers

Date of birth: February 9, 1957 Kokomo, IN

High School: Kokomo High School, Kokomo, IN

Location: Dugout glam shot.

First Impression; Not a huge fan of this one. The only thing that saves it is the satin starter jacket.

Career stats: Pat pitched for the Tigers for all of his 113 games. He only started 34 games and had a career record of 13-18.

All time stat: Drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 1st round (2nd pick) of the 1976 amateur draft right behind Floyd Bannister.

Fun fact: Some players that the Tigers could have had from this set, Bob Owchinko, Ken Landreaux, Keith Moreland, Steve Trout, Bob James, Leon Durham, Pat Tabler, Mike Scoscia or Bruce Hurst. Hindsight being 20/20 Hurst would have been the best pick of any actually selected first round candidate who was also a pitcher. To pile on the 2nd round had Mike Scott and Alan Trammell but at least they were the ones who selected Trammell.

Ever a Future Star?  No.

Rookie or final card? No, oddly he had a card in 1982 though he never pitched in the major leagues in 1981, likely due to the strike. His 1982 card lists his 1981 stats in the minors as 9-8.

Hall of Fame? Number retired? N/A
