First Impression; Glad they did not just him to look at the camera. Another one who’s hat looks like it was kept in his back pocket. He looks like a distressed Tom Green in disguise.
Career stats: Clear pitched in 481 career games for the Angels, Brewers and Red Sox. In that time he had one career start. It was 6/30/87 for Milwaukee and he only lasted 3.1 innings walking 6 and allowing 8 hits. He took the loss. He finished 3rd in ROY voting in 1979 his first All-Star season he was 11-5. His next All-Star season was 1982 with the Red Sox and he finished 14-9. All in all he had 83 career saves.
All time stat: His home/road split numbers are very close. 340/334 hits, 26/34 HR and .228 both home and road. His ERA was higher on the road, 4.12 over home 3.58.
Fun fact: He is one of 180 players have had a minimum 10 wins and 10 saves in the same season. Amazingly 127 of them had no starts. Guess it was not as rare as I thought it would be but 180 is still a low amount.
