First Impression; I liked this card because I really liked the Expos uniforms. This shows the hat in all its splendor.
Career stats player: He played 1891 games, mostly with Montreal but he also played for Texas for 7. He made the All-Star game in both leagues, in 1979 in the NL and in 1987 in the AL. In the 1979 season where Keith Hernandez and Willie Stargell tied for MVP he finished in 4th place. He was a strong player who was very consistent. He knocked 256 out and just missed 1000 RBI with 992.
All Time Stat: Hit three home runs in a game four times during his 15-year major league career.
Career stats manager: 82-104. We are going to have to keep a tally on Tigers managers from this set and Parrish was one. He took over after the firing of Buddy Bell (on this list) and ran the club for the full 1999 season until he was fired and replaced with another from this list, Phil Garner. He went on to have success in the minor leagues, managing 4 championships.
Fun Fact: Hit three grand slams in one week (July 4, 7, and 10 in 1982), tying a long-standing MLB record set by Jim Northrup in the Detroit Tigers’ World Series Championship season in 1968.
