Saint Louis Cardinals

Date of birth: May 11, 1950 Eureka, CA

High School: Arcata HS (Arcata, CA)

School: Brigham Young University (Provo, UT)

Location: Pregame Portrait.

First Impression; Looks like Dane was just told he might be in the lineup.

Career stats: Was he a great dane or sumthin? Not really, from a stats perspective but he looks to have had a platoon career, never getting more than 284 at bats in one season. But he could hit, in a 4 year stretch from 1979 to 1982 his lowest average was .291 and his highest was .327. He was a two time World Series Champion both in the state of Missouri with the Royals and with the Cardinals. He also played for the Phillies, Padres and Royals. He hit .276 over his career with 14 HR.

All Time Stat: Dane Iorg hit .303 as a pinch‑hitter in 1982 (10‑for‑33).

Fun Fact: Once a fan favorite in St. Louis, In Game 6 of the 1985 World Series, Iorg hit the walk‑off single that capped the Royals’ wild 9th‑inning comeback against the Cardinals — the same inning with the infamous Don Denkinger call. He’s a now a folk hero Kansas City because of that swing.
