St. Louis Cardinals
First Impression; Bob does not look pleased. Why does it appear that they stuck this hat on his head? He either was not wearing one or the exposure was too dark to make out the team logo. This was not a traded scenario since he was on St. Louis in 1980.
Location: Dugout.
Date of birth: January 13, 1950
Date of death: November 3, 2011 (61)
Career stats: Bob was a Forsch to be reckoned with. He primarily was a starting pitcher with 422 starts in 498 games. He won 20 games in 1977 and twice won the silver slugger as a pitcher. For his career he hit .213 with 12 HR and 84 RBI. He was a World Series Champion in 1982. His overall record was 168-136 with a 3.76 ERA. He is 4th in all time St. Louis Cardinal wins and the most without 200. His career numbers line up pretty evenly with Adam Wainwright who had 23 more starts and 37 more wins.
All Time Stat: He and his brother pitched no hitters. Ken did it in 1979 for the Astros against the Braves and Bob had two no hitters, one in 1977 against the Phllies and in 1983 against the Expos (a game with Andre Dawson, Tim Raines and Gary Carter in the lineup).
Fun Fact: Bob Forsch is the ONLY pitcher in MLB history to throw a no‑hitter and also hit a grand slam.
